“Sound your team” – Using sound and rhythm to build winning teams

“Invent your world, surround yourself with people, colour, sounds and work that nourishes you.” Sark

We live in a world that is alive with sounds. At some point in our lives we have all experienced the power of sound to transform our state. Science tells us that everything we experience is moving, living vibration – Creation is movement of one kind or another. It reverberates. Even in deep states of relaxation, movement carries on within. How could it be otherwise? In this way we are all connected by sound. Many leading biologists are now coming to the conclusion that our entire bodies are beautifully complex sound resonators. By learning how to consciously strengthen this connection you will see how easy it is to tap into your own state of flow. And taken one step further discover unique ways to connect with others.

Along with his wife Esther, Davide has run and facilitated sound and rhythm workshops (Sound Circles) for more thank seven years. He is an expert percussionist and master of the didgeridoo.

This two-hour workshop (although, due to high levels of fun, it has been known to go on longer) is a truly amazing experience. With a huge range of percussion instruments from all over the world at your disposal, and some simple instructions, you will go on a real-time rhythmic journey. “You” will create the music and decide where the rhythm goes. The beautiful thing about working with the raw components of sound is that questions such as “Am I doing this right?” will disappear. Like magic, it just naturally happens – mind-blowing rhythms emerge from random noise.

We have had some of the most fantastic results from this workshop. We have witnessed how teams come away with a new sense of connection and understanding of each other. Individuals come away with a greater clarity of purpose and creativity. We have seen this gift of rhythm expand people way beyond what they think they are capable of – BECAUSE - its about actually doing it and letting the direct experience become the wise teacher. The magic place is when you are lost in the rhythms and your own instrument as well as the whole group is playing you. Following your natural flow will open many unexpected doors. In reality, you can’t go wrong. You can make mistakes and learn from them. You can have failures and be strengthened by them, but when discovered, your inner sense of rhythm will always lead you down the path that opens new possibilities.

The more you follow and learn to recognise it, the more it will serve you. The more it serves you, the more it will lead you to connect to the adventure at hand.
